Red Pencil Skirt: Take Two

Ever since my horrible attempt at styling the red pencil skirt here, I've been dying to give it another go. Mind you, I was on my deathbed at the time (only slight exaggeration), plus the crappy self photography didn't help any either. So here I am, hopefully doing it justice the second time around.

Top: Victoria's Secret
Skirt: Ann Taylor
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Purse: Chanel East West
Pearls: eBay

Meet my little sidekick for the day: dear baby niece. She loves going outdoors so when she saw me leave, she immediately grabbed her shoes and followed. Ahhhh please excuse the ugly crocs, her mama (my sister) has no sense of style. She said comfort over beauty for the baby. Nonsense, you can have both especially for babies!!! On top of that, her dada put her in a soccer t-shirt because his favorite soccer team was playing. Poor baby, she has no chance of looking stylish (but still soooo cute though). I want to dress her like Suri Cruise haha...

There's something about the color red that's just so powerful! I would definitely pull out this outfit whenever I need a boost of confidence at work. If I have important events/meetings on my calendar that day, I take a little extra care to my outfit that morning. Looking good can really make you feel good! And I love how the red skirt matches the red soles of my shoes hehe...

Don't forget to enter my BCBG clutch giveaway ending this Saturday 6/18!

Here's to hoping that we all feel "powerful" at work this week, ladies! ;)

Electric Blue

I've been on a "blouse" kick lately so when bf pointed out this little number during our SF trip, we quickly snatched it up! He commented that I have too many white shirts already and I completely agree. I'm just drawn to white/beige tops like that. But worry not, I'm open to new things, especially if that means I get to shop more! :P

Blouse: Zara
Skirt: Ann Taylor
Pumps: Christian Louboutin Prorata
Pearl Necklace: eBay
Handbag: Chanel East West

It's hard for us to find time for blog photos but we do what we can. Sometimes I see bf only a few hours a week (like this past weekend), so we rushed outside to snap a few quick pix before the sun goes down. We lost...darnnit! But I rather like the blue against the black backdrop; it pops even more, don't ya think? ;)

Cleaning my Louboutins. :D Gotta put in zip soles soon, darn thing easily gets scuffed up by these harsh cement streets!

Yayyy it's Friday! My weekends are usually more hectic than weekdays because I have many volunteer obligations. Although I lack leisure time, I don't think I would have it any other way. I often ponder...one of these days I'll just stop with all the extra activities and finally have time for myself, would I be more happy? I may have to make that decision soon out of neccessity but I know part of me will always feel like something is missing...

Wishing you all a very beautiful weekend!

Spring Trench

The weather's been extremely cuckoo lately. One minute it's scorching hot, the next it's cold and rainy blehhh. LA's mild weather is long gone and Mother Nature is throwing me all off with her PMS! To cope with her moodiness, I raided my closet and brought out this spring trench to add some sunshine to a gloomy day.

Coat: Forever 21
Top: Ann Taylor
Pants: Gap Slim Crop Pants
Shoes: Ann Taylor
Belt: Ann Taylor
Purse: Chanel
Jewelry: all Amrita Singh (obsessed much?)

See that picture up there? That's a very attractive photo of me covering my mouth and sneezing like crazy. I am extremely sensitive to "coldness" so even a slight breeze will send me into a sneezing frenzy. My body reacts so quickly; it's probably more accurate to rely on me to predict the weather than all those fancy equipments like doppler forecasts lol.

I saw these cropped pants online and was drawn to the clean and sleek silhouette. But I'm not big on the cropped look so I opted for regular sizing for that extra length. I wanted "cigarette leg" pants but didn't quite achieve it with these. The leg opening is a little wide for my taste. I would like it more if it were slimmer and more tapered.

These pants are super comfy but what's up with the bunching? Ughhhh! Are they keepers or not?

Close up look of the shirt and necklace. A girl in my class wore a similar shirt while doing a presentation and I was definitely paying more attention to her shirt rather than what she had to say lol. I was too shy to ask where she got it from...so when I saw this shirt at Ann Taylor, I just had to have it!

Warm weather, please come out and play! <3

Monday Work Look + Cardigan Unenthusiasm

I used to hate shopping for work clothes because nothing would fit me off the rack. Thanks to the petite community, I have been introduced to Ann Taylor & LOFT where I have had much luck. Today's work outfit features the scuba pencil skirt, one of my very first LOFT purchases a few months ago...

Cardigan: J Crew, XXS
Blouse: Forever 21, XS
Skirt: LOFT Scuba Skirt, P00
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Prorata's (buy)
Handbag: Chanel Black Caviar Jumbo
Pearl Necklace: eBay; Bracelets: Forever 21 (buy)

I adore the details on the back of this pencil skirt. Looks much more interesting than the regular back vent slit, right? ;)

Ok, onto the cardigan. I must be in the very small minority that dislike cardigans. I have loved it on bloggers everywhere but they just don't look right on me. Perhaps it's because I like to wear them strictly as a light outerwear layer, which equates to no tucking and no belting. What little curves I have is completetly swallowed and I end up looking so frumpy urghh! I am on the look out for slightly tapered/slim waisted cardigans to wear as is, so please do share if you come across any. In the mean time, I'll stick with my lightweight cropped jackets until I find something that can convert me into a cardigan lover. That's me down there looking aimlessly and saying "perfect cardigan, where art thou?" lol...

Oh I'm only 5'2 so some would say that the Chanel jumbo is kinda big on me. But I love it because I use it as a work purse, and I love carrying around a small book just in case I have down time for leisure reading so it suits me perfectly! ;)

Have a lovely first day of the week, ladies!

Seeing Red

I've been sick. So sick that I feel like I'm hallucinating sometimes. But I also feel guilty for neglecting this little blog so I managed to get out of bed for a whole 5 minutes to take some pictures of what I would have worn today if I went to work. (We have a color theme going on this week and today is of course, red.) This blogging stuff is serious bizness. :P

Skirt: Ann Taylor, Size P0 (runs small, waist=12.25'')
Shirt: Ann Taylor LOFT, Size PXXS

Turquoise Necklace: Boutique
Ring: H&M
You might have seen this same skirt on Jean of Extra Petite and Elle of Fast Food and Fast Fashion. Originally, I ordered a P00 but it was soooo tiny so I exchanged for a P0. There is definitely sizing inconsistency as I have other skirts from Ann Taylor in size P00 that have bigger waist measurements than this P0.

Although the fit around the waist is ok, hips and other areas are somewhat roomy. You can see the bunchiness as I move around. It's not perfect but it's a welcome splash of color to my wardrobe.

When I first thought about blogging, bf promised to be my photographer...except we haven't had time to see each other for at least a couple of weeks. I suck at taking self photos so I can't wait to have my photographer around! I promise his pictures will look much better than my sorry attempts. :D

Ok I'm out. I hope you're feeling better than I am at the moment. Cheers!
